Luxury vinyl plank flooring (LVP) is the answer to a lot of the most common questions about wood floors and their water challenges.

Right now, these floors are trending. Everyone wants the wood look, especially in the bathroom, but there are some places like this where traditional wood flooring shouldn?t be installed.

The perfect answer is LVP. It's completely waterproof and amazingly realistic. Since the image is made from 3-D photography, you can see every grain and knot. Embossing adds texturing features, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, or distressed. It is available in matte, gloss, or high gloss finishes.

How is vinyl plank made?

Images are created and the vinyl is cut into strips, and then mounted on boards to mimic wood planks. It is important to note that, while this is most often associated with wood looks, you can also use LVP for tile or stone. Marble baths are also trending right now, as are any stone floors, including terrazzo, granite, and slate.

By the way, metallics are also trending, so combine them for the best of both worlds with copper-colored slate flooring. Quarried stone, however, is pricey and many homeowners and designers opt to use vinyl stone on planks because the fewer grout lines give it a more continuous look.

As for tile, the latest trend is for them to get bigger and bigger, so many are opting for LVP for their tile looks. The vinyl is available in assorted vivid patterns and bright colors.
